German Lebkuchen
Traditional spiced cookies, often enjoyed during the holidays.

Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped nuts
- Glaze or powdered sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix flour, baking soda, and spices in a bowl.
- Heat honey, brown sugar, and butter in a saucepan until melted; let cool.
- Combine honey mixture with the dry ingredients, then mix in the egg and nuts.
- Shape dough into small rounds and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, then cool and glaze if desired.
